Explaining will make Duterte look weak & critics will expect him to explain all the time ~Share

Politics is ruled by the law of the jungle. Weakness attracts predators and strength repels them. If Duterte starts explaining himself, he will be perceived as weak and it will embolden his enemies and the "balimbing" parasites will start looking for another host.
He did not have to explain why he ordered Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Dir. Gen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa to reinstate Supt. Marvin Marcos as the head of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in the Eastern Visayas even after suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa linked him to the narcotics trade.

This is what President Rodrigo Duterte said at a speech delivered during the lighting of the Malacañang Christmas tree on Monday, December 5, 2016.

Duterte emphasized that “As the head of government and as the Chief Executive, the police is under me. So the PNP chief is under my supervision and control,".

He added saying that, "I do not have to explain to you, the whole Republic of the Philippines and the critics, why I made the order for him just to sit down and do not remove him,”

Duterte continued by stressing that, "My purpose? Huwag ka nang magtanong. Protocol? We are government employees. What do you mean by protocol? I ordered the transfer or retention, you ask me about protocol?". "There is no such thing as protocol. When there is absolute supervision and control, I can modify, and mend, revoke any order in this Executive Department,” he added.

Duterte said that he told Dela Rosa to hold his order to remove Marcos as the CIDG Region 8’s chief because he wanted to further check something about the allegations against the officer.

Last Friday, December 2, 2016, the president revealed that Marcos was really linked to drugs.

"Eh ngayon, ang lumalabas, well, ako ang number one tuloy. They are questioning my motive. I knew before—they are now assuming that maybe I knew about the operation. Then now ang bago nila, ako ang nag-utos sa loob. Whatever the reason be, that’s my discretion,” the President said.

Duterte said, "Gusto ko mag-prangka sa inyo. Iyong mayor na who was served a warrant and there was a shootout. Some say extrajudicial killing. Talagang pinatay daw. Look, may mga criticisms sa akin, I accept it,"

He added by saying, "That’s part of the territory of being a President. But do not force me, criticize me to force me to believe iyong mga theory at mga assumption na even with the witnesses na pinatay iyong mayor sa loob ng prisuhan,"

"Sabi ng police, pag-serve nila ng warrant, lumaban at binaril nila. Tama. And I believe you because the police is under the Executive branch of the government. Akin," said Duterte.

Taking full responsibility for his orders, Duterte reminded the police, "Just obey iyong order ko na look for them and hunt for them. Sundin lang ninyo and ako ang lahat mananagot. I will answer for it personally. Walang washing of hands. Akin iyon,".
